Easter candy!

Recommended Posts

Why do all holidays seem to involve food? The kids don’t even like candy that much and now we have baskets of the stuff. I’m not super into sweets, but having pounds of candy laying around isn’t helpful to the cause!

It would be so much easier if those plastic eggs were just filled with hard boiled eggs.

I usually don't crave sweet. But, I have my chocolate or carb weak moments . I tell my husband to hide or take to work any temptation foods when I'm struggling.

I do dip strawberries in hershey's chocolate sugar free Syrup or have a Quest chocolate flavored Protein Bar to kill the craving.

How would you like to be allergic to chocolate like me? No true joy there in a cocoa world. Alas I still have a few nemesis left -like Reeses pieces and Payday bars.Whipped cream, Maraschino cherries and Caramel Syrup. Lead me not into Blondie Brownies and Iced Sugar Cookies. I have food-dar, I'll find them on my own![emoji497][emoji512][emoji511][emoji513]

My kids got nuts in their plastic eggs this year (Easter Bunny pranked them for April Fools)

I bit a Cadbury Egg. i'll admit it. They're my favorite Easter candy. One little bite...and it was freaking wonderful...and disgusting...all at the same time.

Handed it off to my daughter immediately to keep from re-offending. And did not do it in my house.

For some reason, I feel better about a bite of a "special occasion treat" when I don't bring it into my house. How weird is that? Also...there have to be support people present. LOL. I have a lot of weird rules about consuming naughty things I need to be kept accountable for.

It's like....I think drinking is worse when done alone and secretively at home. If my family sees me bite that egg...and quit after a bite....it's safe. (weird new safety parameters for a weird new life)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
