I’m sleeved! Surgeon at 7:30 ct this am. Bad gas pain for first few hours. Now only effecting me with deep breaths in.

Already walked two laps (helped gas pain, peed, and drank 6oz of Water. Trying little broth and Jello next.

Apparently had a hernia that had to be repaired as well.

My surgery is only about 24 hours away now! I’m hoping they can still do it because I’ve had a wicked sore throat the past few days. No fever though. I really don’t want to reschedule.

Sleeved on May 3rd.

I'm eating soft foods. Thursday I graduate to solid regular foods! I am still having a hard time with sustaining energy. I am following along with the food stages without any mental difficulties at all. My B-team said I didn't have to do puree foods this week, just soft foods. If a fork pushes through the food then its ok, Thursday I venture out into "regular foods".

For those getting ready for the puree stage, I found watching YouTube videos on VSG puree week very helpful. They gave me ideas as well as encouragement. I watched several of them. I don't have any recommendations of one over any others.

Yay for the Mays!!!

The first week will be a little tough but watch next week. You will notice each day is better and better!

Thank you K-but

Yeah I have to give my stomach time to heal, I still can't pass gas , so I have lots of hiccups and burping. Which makes it worst.

Was sleeved on May 15th. So far so good. I have one more week of clear liquid before I progress to puréed. But I did purée some squash and zucchini that I had made my husband for dinner and it was amazing. A little early but I couldn’t help myself🙂. I’m still having a hard time with the Protein but Water intake is going good and walking 10,000 steps a day! Just take it day by day and you will do great!!

Just sleeved on the 21! The initial pain was horrible and I had trouble with vomiting really bad for about 3-4 hours after surgery! But once they got the pain and nausea under control it was much better! Now to get all this Fluid in! It seems to take all day long just to get the amount they want you to have! I hope it gets better with time!

I went back to work yesterday and I was so surprised by all the compliments! My coworkers all say that they can see a difference already and it's only been 9 days. I keep this in mind when I start to feel tired of this liquid stage. I hope everyone is staying strong!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
