We are here in the waiting area at hospital. Hubby is feeling a little nervous for me, I think I'm still feeling ok, confident that my surgeon knows his stuff.

I'm doing ok folks. Has some pain and some nausea but they've kept me on various medications for it. I hated being woken up every 90 mins or so for them to change stuff on my drip or give other medication - the short sleeps reminded me of having a newborn again!

I threw up once this morning after they had me swallow some medication, but it wasn't too bad. The leg Massage/squeeze things to help prevent blood clots were really weird but thankfully didn't stop me sleeping. I was so tired post op I was probably only awake and hour total between op finishing around 1pm and late night time.

Taoz, I’m glad everything’s going well for you so far. How long do you expect to be there? Have you been drinking and walking? My surgery begins tomorrow afternoon at 2:50 pm which seems late to me. They’re saying I should be ready to go home at 1pm the next day. I hope they’re right but it all seems so fast. Tonight I’m really not nervous. I’m overtired from getting everything ready for post op. I’m sure I’ll feel different tomorrow! Hang in there Taoz. You got this!

Mine is on the 16th and tomorrow I will start my two week pre op, I hope it goes by fast. Good luck and hugs to all of us!

I’m on the 14th, so here we go! The “Oreos” diet is harder than I thought it would be.

Ugh! Stupid spellcheck! The PreOp diet! [emoji23]

My surgeon has a minimum of 3 nights stay :( just IV fluids yesterday, and the occasional sip of Water this morning when taking small tablets. Starting don't bariatric fluids at lunchtime, but has to bring my own, as they only have Optifast which gives me headaches. I wish I could go home sooner but at least the IV will keep me hydrated.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
