clo_doe 29 Posted April 1, 2018 Hi guys it feels like I just come here with problems and I’m sorry for that but it’s hard to find anyone who relates to me. I’m wondering if anyone noticed changes to their sleep post op, I used to love sleeping. I would sleep all night no problems. Sadly now I wake up three-four times a night. Every time I wake up I’m crazy dehydrated and have a dry mouth. Thing is I’m drinking the recommended amount Fluid, haven’t taken meds for weeks, don’t exercise late, and don’t drink coffee. I don’t understand what’s going on!
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted April 1, 2018 How many ounces per day are you drinking? Are you estimating or actually keeping track? Sounds to me like you need to drink much more than you are. Also...insomnia in the weeks following surgery is fairly common. It gets better.
clo_doe 29 Posted April 1, 2018 I drink 2 litres I’m Australian so I think that’s 60oz US. I couldn’t possibly drink more it’s hard enough.
frust8 963 Posted April 1, 2018 Australia might have a dry interior but with that much Fluid, you certainly don't.Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app 2 Taoz and clo_doe reacted to this
Losebig 508 Posted April 2, 2018 Fairly common at first, but usually gets better. I had a couple weeks of insomnia too. Try melatonin

SleeveinIL 386 Posted April 3, 2018 I only have one comment about melatonin. I had breast cancer and am taking tamoxifen. Melatonin interferes with Tamoxifen, so if you are on anymeds, please check with your doctor first.
