When I first started this journey, I could not walk one block without needing to stop due to back pain and breathlessness. Today, I walked 2.7 miles. I was slow -- it took me an hour and 16 minutes -- but my back held up, and I felt really good and grateful the whole time. :)

Anyone else have any non-scale victories to share?

Congrates good job!! Its very addicting. I find myself thinking about my walks while I'm at work I can't wait to get home and go walk. I take off for 1 1/2 - 2hrs a day I love it. I listen to music and it's great for thinking about anything you want to think about.. alone time...me time.... it's wonderful..

Thank you! I agree--walking is wonderful, especially outside (treadmill is a bit boring). I can't wait to be able to travel and walk, walk, walk. Glad you are loving life!

Thank you! That's fabulous! I hope you have a wonderful time. Ziplining scares me, I will admit.

Good that you want and looking forward to zip lining. You won't have me joining you there. I have acrophobia, fear of heights, I get more than 1 or 2 stories and the panic monster wants to take over. Sweaty palms, nausea. and wanting somewhere I can be safe, hidden and treated kindly. Yeah I've got it bad and that isn't good. I can't remember a time I wasn't scared of heights, even when I was normal proportioned as a little girl, maybe there is something sad about a fat woman who's crying like a small child. So I try to keep my feet on solid ground.[emoji20]

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
