Surgery date on Monday

Recommended Posts

Advice please! My surgery is on Monday what are things I need or should pack for the hospital.
Thank you!

I remember I packed a pair of warm socks because it can be cold in the hospital room. And a pair of slippers that way I could walk around and my tooth brush and some tooth paste. And a change of clothes so when I went home. You’re gonna be sore and in some pain and be uncomfortable but it’ll be worth if. You got this! This is just the beginning of the journey but the results will be worth it!

I also made sure to pack any Necessary paperwork you need for the hospital and I made sure to have my hair braided so that way I didn’t have to worry about it

They should have a lot of prewarmed blankets, demand them if they don't offer. I don't know about you but I'm taking sweatpants for my bottom half and one of my knitted poncho things to wrap around my shoulders since my arms will probably have IVs and there may be wires etc attached to my sweet self. [emoji40][emoji39][emoji73]Easter Bunny[emoji195] and I say good luck for your tomorrows and heal healthy!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
