anyone know...

So my SIL has called a few insurance companies because while her insurance doesn’t cover the lap-band, she is considering taking on additional insurance that will, but in all her calling a few different places told her that if you have the lapband done with an insurance company you have to stay with that company the rest of your life because no other insurance company will cover you…

Does anyone know if this is true or not? We get our insurance thru my husbands employer if they switch us over will we be left without insurance or is what my SIL was told completely untrue?

I can't answer that for certain, usually employees with group policies don't have to worry about pre-existing issues.

I also was shocked to find out that my DH was denied recently for life insurance because of having lap band surgery! I would think it would be better to have the surgery than to be obese, but then, the probably would have denied him for that as well.

Well that is good to know, because unless he gets fired I don't see my husband quiting his job. Maybe I will ask theinsurance company about it and see what they say.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
