Help--Cramps every time I eat

Recommended Posts

Hello---so I'm 5 weeks out. For the last two days everything I eat or drink gives me cramps. Even the smallest portion of yogurt or a Protein Drink makes me feel sick. The pain is in my lower torso area so I know it's not my stomach.

Anyone have any past experiences or know what's up.

thanks

Are you having regular bowel movements? You could be dehydrated, not making stools soft enough, therefore, maybe a blockage? I would consult a doctor. :)

More Miramax-more fluid-keep from stressing- take deep breaths- blow out slowly. There feel some better? Then my little prescription worked, you're going to be just fine[emoji12][emoji12][emoji106]

Yep. In my life this means I need to stop eating until I clear the #2 tunnel. It may mean huge gyrations...colace, MOM, Miralax, Mag Citrate liquid, glycerine suppositories...And FORCE the Water down if it will still go...

I had the same problem in the weeks after surgery. It felt like pelvic pain. I took Milk of Magnesium and it took 2 days but I finally went. I would advise to not put it off. Because it’s not going anywhere. And the sick feeling you are having is your body saying you probably don’t have much room. Drink lots of fluids. I take soluble Fiber with my Water everyday to keep regular.

Make sure you're pooping actively before starting fiber. Cuz if you are semi-impacted, you will have trouble pdq. I'd do some MOM now and make sure you have 2-4 really full poops first. But that's just my opinion.

I am keeping on top of mine in the following way--I can't have my psyllium fiber until about week 8. Until then:

2 colace/day

17g Miralax/day

and if that doesn't produce a daily poop, I take mag citrate or Smooth Move tea every 3rd day. But so far the above is managing it.

And I drink 120oz of water/liquid per day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
