I’m 11 days post op from a mini gastric bypass with Dr. Illan. I would choose him a million times over if I had to! The facility was wonderful, everyone was amazing, and Dr. Illan is seriously just incredible.

I am 5 days post op with dr.illan and I would choose him and his staff all day every day all over again. I had an amazing experience as well as my mom that came with me. We were both taken care of 100% of the time. Surgery (sleeve) went smooth and I have been up walking and good to go since a couple hours after surgery. Good luck with your decision and have a wonderful surgery and a great recovery!!

I am just about 4 months postop from having surgery at BariatricPal with Dr Illan. It was a totally positive experience. I was so well looked after and had no complications. I am down 70lbs so far and would do this again in a heart beat. The hospital is new, well equipped and very clean. I would recommend Dr Illan 100%.

Dr. Illan hands down. The service that my companion and I received was amazing! You will not regret going with this company. They handled everything and then some.

I am about 14 months post-op with Dr Illan, and my wife is about 2 months out with him as well. He is the greatest! BPMx is a first class organization - they cover every detail completely - all you have to do is get well. I highly recommend them and Dr Illan.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
