I'm 3 months post op gastric sleeve and am struggling with being easily irritated by coworkers. I'm sure these coworkers annoyed me pre op but i probably used food to ease my irritation. Anyone else have the same issue?

I am sorry that this is happening. Yeah, my family members are irritating me more and I can't use the normal methods to drown out the irritation. I just sort of have to put up and shut up. Not fun nohow.

Oh yeah, I was annoyed for a long time. I was frustrated, irritated and easily aggravated. Once I started hitting the gym before work, that has changed. I get the energy out and then I just learned to ignore them. I have not desire to have many conversations anymore as I am thinking about what my next workout will be.

Yes, I am cranky at times, and a bit mouthier as my patience for bs has lessened considerably. I have had to take a walk, take a shower, take a nap, leave in the car, pet some fabric, etc and it passes. These are all physical motions - doing anything physical quiets the mind/mood.

OMG! Me! Me! Me! Me!

I wanna be called Sistah Crankypants!

My theory is that we're all internally and eternally hangry. And we are having silent blood sugar lows that make us cranks!

As you lose weight, the chemicals and hormones that were stored in your fat cells are being released into your body. These will pass through your kidneys and are expelled in your urine or through your sweat. But they can generate a flush of hormones during the weight loss phase. They should simmer down once you transition into maintenance. It is important to meet your daily Fluid requirements, because it take fluids to flush these hormones from your system.

I wanna vent, too!!! My SIL, who I truly love, came and spent LAST weekend with us and she's coming again THIS weekend (and bringing a friend!). And my brother had a procedure that required anesthesia and spent 2 days with us. I'm, like, 10 days out of surgery, and what I really want is to relax/rest/recuperate before I have to go back to work. What are they thinking?? Neither one did an damn thing to help out. Ahem. Vent is over. Cough. Must calm down...LOL

I know, right? I mean, I love them both, but this isn't what is best for me right now.

@Apple203 There is something wrong with my account. The system admins have no idea. I suppose I could create a new one but I'd lose all the work I put into this one. ;-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
