logicwand 269 Posted March 22, 2018 When did you start feeling more energy after the sleeve? I'm looking forward to the new energy level everyone enjoys after WLS. I'm 3 weeks post op, so still recovering, but I can't wait to run. Will I have the energy for this in 6 weeks? I'm still tired during the day and of course after work. aNYCdb 310 Posted March 22, 2018 After about 48 hours my energy was pretty much back to normal. Went back to the gym to do cardio today (2 weeks out) and was able to push just about as hard as I did the day before surgery. That said everyone is different and if you've had pain that's one he'll of an energy killer.Sent from my VS987 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 logicwand reacted to this
Paul Clarke 108 Posted March 22, 2018 I am three weeks out today and I too am feeling low energy. I am fairly sure it is the ultra low calorie diet, so I guess it wont get much better until I move on to puree in about 9 days, then softs sometime after that. Under 500 cal per day is not a lot of gas in the tank. 2 Apple203 and logicwand reacted to this
Acts238girl 73 Posted March 23, 2018 My energy came back fully at about 4-5 weeks. I just had my 6 week check up and given permission for light core work and light running. He said to slow down if I am sore. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app 1 logicwand reacted to this

Fantasstik 4 Posted March 24, 2018 I’ve had RNY and I’m about 3 days shy of 3 weeks out. I am starting to worry because I currently still get very tired just doing simple things like walking and when I stand up, I get a little dizzy, my heart rate also goes a little high when I do anything even remotely strenuous. I am eating about 600 calories a day, getting in 48-64 ounces of Fluid and around 60 grams of Protein. I feel like I shouldn’t be feeling this crappy still. On my 3rd post op day I was readmitted to the hospital for 4 nights because my body went into diabetic ketoacidosis (I’ve had type one diabetes for the majority of my life), so I’m beginning to worry it’s happening again. Does anyone else feel this way, or felt this way around the same time as me? Thanks in advance.
jess9395 5,449 Posted March 25, 2018 Add me to the 4-5 weeks category. And I didn’t increase my calories either, it was just the stage of recovery. 2 logicwand and Fantasstik reacted to this
Yadifan 23 Posted March 27, 2018 I am almost 4 weeks out and also feel very weak and dizzy. Not much energy here at all. 1 logicwand reacted to this
lindsayAK 100 Posted March 27, 2018 Started working out at week 5. That’s when I finally had the energy to exercise. 1 logicwand reacted to this
logicwand 269 Posted March 27, 2018 This is so great to hear. Thank you everybody for posting. I'll be 4 weeks post on Wednesday. Despite not feeling energetic, I have this desire to work out. I walked my dogs longer tonight. I feels so good. I think my 25 lb weight loss is actually making it easier for me to move. This is truly incredible. I hope this lasts and is not just some weird spot I'm in. LOL @Fantasstik, how are you feeling today? Did things get any better? Are you eating puree yet? 1 aNYCdb reacted to this
Nikki46vsgjourney 4 Posted March 27, 2018 I’m 8 days post op and I’m basically tired and sleepy. I’m trying to get my all my fluids and Proteins in. My skin is so dry no matter how much lotion I put on it and I feel like I’m not myself. Is this normal? 1 logicwand reacted to this
logicwand 269 Posted March 28, 2018 Nikki, I just started feeling more like myself this week ...which is week 4 for me. I know that seems a long way off right now, but don't worry, it's coming and you will be feelin' better.
melissaperault1970 2 Posted March 28, 2018 It took me about 4-6 weeks to feel 100%. Once you can start exercising your energy levels will really be raised. Make sure you get all your Protein in. 1 logicwand reacted to this
pagallo64 5 Posted March 30, 2018 I am on week 2 and had the same question! Yay! Thank you! 1 logicwand reacted to this
TakingABreak 2,733 Posted March 30, 2018 Mine was back to 100% at six weeks I'd say. I started exercising at 5 weeks though. I also increased my calories from 300-400 a day to 500-600, which I think helped. I didn't do this intentionally but actual food has more calories than liquids. I was consuming more by this stage in the food progression. 2 logicwand and pagallo64 reacted to this
