My favorite Protein Powder is progenex. It’s pricey and not significantly different than other Proteins but it tastes amazing. I mix it with almond, coconut or 1% milk and as a treat make a shake with Cookies and cream powder and vanilla halo top. The powder is amazing. I’ve tried vanilla, chocolate, PB chocolate, mocha and cookies and cream. The cookies and cream is the best.

Try getting creative with Protein products you dont like. Drinking them is boring. sugar free pudding, protein fluff, mugcakes smoothies, , Cookies are all things ive done with protein powder. Some are easier/healthier than others, but theres so many creative ways to use the stuff that it can go from disgusting crap to edible and enjoyable
Personally I think you take any protein powder mix it with coconut flour baking powder splenda and skim milk toss in the microwave and itll taste pretty decent (if thanks to only the coconut flour)

Great ideas! Thanks! I didn’t even think about things like mug cakes and stuff. I’m not far out enough to try that but when I am I will try it.

Good saves so I don’t have to throw it out. :)

I’m pre-op right now but I really love the Primal Kitchen chocolate Coconut Protein powder with some PB2 mixed in and blended really really well with a bit of ice.

I'm not sure how long post op this goes for or if all surgeons say it. But my group says no blending Protein Drinks for a while after surgery, as if gets too much air in your stomach and causes discomfort/fills you up

I use flavorless Protein from time to time, here is a link https://dochalenutrition.com/. I recommend if you want some to call and not order it online and let Dr. Hale know that Alan pointed you his direction. Also, try tossing a banana or Peanut Butter in any chocolate flavor protein to mask the taste of protein.

Eh blenders don't add that much air and you can stir it after blending.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
