Don't be scared. Everyone is different. I only had problems after my surgery, but since you're already one month out you should be fine. I love my IUD and wish I had gotten it years ago.

Same situation here as well. I have Mirena. No period last 2 years and as soon as I had surgery started a period. Lasted 2 weeks. Stopped for a week and started up again. I’m so glad someone started this thread because I’ve been wondering as well!!! Also had a slight uti about a week ago. Feel better knowing it’s happening to others!!

Actually, I suffer from severe menstrual cramps, I been on every contraceptive, ring, and implant...and nothing works. My doctor didn't have a problem with it.

Doctors specifically told me that the surgery, I think specifically general anesthesia stuff, will interrupt the effectiveness of your birth control for a week out. They said it to me so many times. So that might be why??

I'm not on any birth control and my period still went wacky directly after surgery. My cycle came two weeks early (just days after surgery) and was heavy for about a week only for it to come back at it's normally scheduled time a week later. It took about 6 months for me to completely regulate but now 15 months post op my periods are the best they have ever been. I always suffered from long heavy erratic periods but now they are regular. My OBGYN said that it is 100% from the weight loss effecting hormones.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
