fitmamacoco56 1 Posted March 20, 2018 Today I hit 1 year post op from RNY although I’m loving the weight loss I keep hitting stalls, not because of my eating habits ! But because I’ve been so constipated I feel like since day 1 or the surgery I have not been regular, so I take laxitives everyday..: I’ve tried drinking more Water and eating more Fiber but nothing helps. I was taking suppositories daily and then it stopped working so I’m thinking of doing an enema, has any one tried prescription meds for Constipation or have you ever used an enema and if you have, what works best .. I heard mineral oil or coffee enema ! Thank you for reading Xoxo-constipated coco

James Marusek 5,244 Posted March 20, 2018 As you reach the end of the weight loss phase, Constipation can become an intense problem. In my case I discovered that if I eat an apple before I retired to bed, the next morning I had a bowel movement. But you have to eat the skin of the apple. It is a combination of the skin and the pulp. Remember the saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". For me it was "Eat an apple each night to keep the constipation away". 1 fitmamacoco56 reacted to this
Sadiebug 206 Posted March 20, 2018 I discovered that adding more fat to my diet helped tremendously with my Constipation problems. I switched from skim milk to 2% and try and eat healthy fats every day (e.g. avocado) and if I'm having a lot of problems I will have a bit of higher fat canned Soup (e.g. canned turkey chili) and it works without fail. 1 fitmamacoco56 reacted to this
