Size of Dilation?

Recommended Posts

I had an endoscopy for an ulcer and they found that my opening was only 9mm. I had a dilation a few weeks later to bring it to 12mm. It’s been 5-6 weeks and I don’t notice any improvement so they will go in again in about 2 weeks. (I just had a double mastectomy a week ago so need to wait). My questions for those of you that had dilations are what size were you stretched to and then how many dilations did you have until it “took”?

My surgery was 5-8-2017 so coming up on a year soon. I’ve eaten mostly soft foods and tiny portions this whole time and can’t wait to add some variety into my diet.

I don’t know so that’s why I’m asking.

My guess: 12-15 mm but only your surgeon knows what has worked best in the past for him/her. I'm hoping for a turkey or duck-egg size pouch instead of a pullet chicken but as long as I'm turned into a kangaroo( a pouch, okay?) I'll take what I receive.[emoji38]PS sorry to hear of that serious serious surgery, now you get healthy again, you hear?

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
