laurileet 86 Posted March 19, 2018 Had a home sleep study over the weekend. WORST. SLEEP. EVER. I had this head band thing with sensors on it, and it also took audio. So I couldn't sleep in my normal bedroom, because my husband also snores and his noise would come out on my test. Also couldn't use white noise machine, or have the tv on. So I slept on the couch. The thing kept falling off of my head and hitting me in the eyes and nose. the tube that goes up your nose (yes up your nose) would then fall out or push up. I couldn't move or it would move. I took it off to go to the bathroom even though they said don't take it off during the test. No way I was going to wear it in the bathroom. This thing was invasive enough as it was. Finally gave up with it after about 3.5 hours. Woke up with an amazing head ache and feeling like I had a hangover. Jeez. How in the world do people sleep with a complete cpap on their face??? i'm concerned about this part of compliance. what if I cant do it? 1 logicwand reacted to this
Rainbow_Warrior 996 Posted March 19, 2018 This is the very reason it's better to do such tests at the sleep lab.
Matt Z 4,139 Posted March 19, 2018 LOL try sleeping at a proper sleep study... leads on your head, face, arms, legs, chest straps, blood o2 sensor, unfamiliar location with a camera pointed at you. 2 lamoore1216 and Apple203 reacted to this
Matt Z 4,139 Posted March 19, 2018 The CPAP takes some getting used to, but there are a LOT of different styles and sizes. But, it's an important medical device, if you need it, you NEED IT. If you aren't compliant, they might not do your surgery.
newmebithebypass 713 Posted March 22, 2018 Yeah i had to do 2 sleep studies like a month apart at the lab that goop in your hair never goes away lolSent from my LGLS676 using BariatricPal mobile app
ewms 57 Posted March 24, 2018 My home sleep study was a wrist watch with a finger sensor. Not bad and nothing on my head or up nose. Maybe you can look into other home medical equipment for the testing. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 logicwand reacted to this
Courtney95 2 Posted March 24, 2018 Just finished my at home sleep test the other day it was a device with a band that went around my chest and a nasal cannula and pulse ox. The nasal cannula was the worst !!
sasa_maria 37 Posted March 24, 2018 Omg I just did my sleep study last night. Worst thing ever. I was up damn near all night. She said I did sleep enough to get a good reading but I was hooked up to all different wires and had a finger thing on and something up my nose.. It was horrible. I've been up since 4am. I'm exhausted. I cannot wait to sleep tonight. I wish they would've let me do it at home. They had wires stuck to my head... Ugh lol 1 lamoore1216 reacted to this
