I had out of pocket VSG surgery on 2/8/15 at Emory Bariatric In Atlanta, GA. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days at a total cost of about $25,000.00. The care I received was excellent and well worth the cost.

I’m scheduled for the sleeve on 4/14. I’m self-pay, and my procedure is $9500. I had another consult with another surgeon, and they offered me $13k. The 2 others I say was asking for 18k and 20k as a cash patient. I’m in Los Angeles. All of them accept CarePay and personal loans. I’m paying half in cash, the other on CarePay.

I had mine in Dallas- total for everything plus a year of post op $10k. Insurance did not cover bc my BMI was 34 and I had no co-morbidity.
No problems- everything went smoothly.

Had mine in Austin for around $12k.

A lot of insurance policies don’t cover weight loss surgery - period. No reason required just not covered.
