Bjordan2 1 Posted March 19, 2018 Have any of you paid out of pocket for your sleeve? If so, how much, and did you do financing through them? My insurance won’t cover and I need to pay out of pocket. aNYCdb 310 Posted March 19, 2018 I'm sorry to hear that. I believe the average price for self pay is ~$26K and there is generally financing available, but this can vary quite a bit so it's worth asking your local providers what they charge. Alternatively there are a bunch of folks here who go to Mexico for the surgery where it can be done for much less out of pocket (the VSG is a pretty simple proceedure so complications are pretty rare). slbolemiss62 13 Posted March 20, 2018 I am planning to have sleeve surgery in Mexico in June. I have a lot of acquaintances who had their surgery there, and are doing very well. The cost is $4700. Use the intervening time to get ready, maybe lose some weight, do exercise, the fitter you are the easier the surgery. Bloomer723 75 Posted March 21, 2018 I had surgery at University of Cincinnati West Chester and UC offered a 12K plan that included everything. Check with them to see if they have any deals. My friend went to Dr. Curry. I actually work for UC and only $3500 was covered. I paid $9800 out of pocket and that was a 50% discount. frust8 963 Posted March 22, 2018 I always think of it as a cross between a sleeve and a RnY. There is a single opening into the small intestine instead of the 2 on RnY. That includes everything , but airfare..... go to the website: ALM .com. I have lots of friends and family that have had their sleeve surgery done in Mexico.
