Down 70 pounds.

I’m feeling so discouraged because I’m very strict with my diet and exercise and I seem to be gaining some weight which I can only assume is gaining muscle. But my doctor is looking at me like I’m not trying when I’m following everything to the t. I feel so crappy cause he told me that me being down 70 pounds in 5 months was “nothing”.

-My workouts consist of cardio for 45 minutes to an hour then weights twice a week

-My diet is 80g of Protein a day, 800 Calories, mostly vegetarian diet (when I rarely eat meat it’s fish), no bread, Water and sugar free drinks.< /p>

My doctor isn’t helping me cause I’m already following everything they tell me and I’m just depressed and feel hopeless. Maybe someone here can help me. Anything I can do to improve and maybe push my weight loss faster again?

Are you getting more calories on the days you work out? When your body doesn’t think you’re going to replace what you’ve exerted, it hangs on. A good friend of mine had a sleeve 2 years ago and said her loss slowed when she went back to boot camp but it really helped with toning and her body fat % was still dropping, clothes fitting looser, etc.

First of all let me say that your doctor sounds like a prick, and that 70lbs is a huge victory.

This isn't a huge deal, but generally you want to be doing your weight training before your cardio. Weight training doesn't limit your cardio performance, but cardio can limit your weight training performance, because weight training gains only come by pushing you muscles to the limit.

Based on what you have said you are getting only about 25% of your calories from Protein which is a bit low. Have you have a urine test lately? If so are you testing positive for ketones in your urine? If not you may consider shaking things up by severely reducing your carbs to see if that changes anything for you.

Hi Rose Congrats on the weight loss, don’t be so hard on yourself. One day at a time, don’t let the scale dictate your progress, Water should be your best friend, your doing all the right things...keep up the great job, think positive... you’ll reach your goal... everyone is different and unique on this journey, it is a life altering decision you will not regret. Had my gastric bypass Sept 25/17 l feel great! Stay focused, do not let your Dr play with your emotions...you will gain some and lose some...it’s how you feel better hat your is important
