trinjen 32 Posted March 17, 2018 We don’t have a sitter.. Will my 2 year old allowed to be there with my husband and I right before the surgery and after? I am staying over night in the hospital while they stay over night in a hotel so I’m not asking about that; just about the time gaps so I’m not completely alone the entire time. trinjen 32 Posted March 17, 2018 To add:Or would you recommend my husband just dropping me off and picking me up in when I’m discharged? Will I be out of it and in too much pain anyways to even want my hub and child there?
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted March 18, 2018 It's best to phone the specific hospital and see what their policy is about little visitors. My hospital was surprisingly accommodating of families. They even had a family waiting room on the surgery floor with stuff for kids. But not every hospital is like this. One thing that is wonderful now...is that most places can give the spouse a pager so they can keep the little ones on the move and not bothering anyone. After you're settled in your room, hubby and kiddo can almost certainly visit. They can help get you checked in, too, but access right before surgery might be more limited because of the little one. Call ahead and see what they say. 3 FluffyChix, em1 and Biddy zz 🏳️🌈 reacted to this
