Hi, I would like to address my fears to people who never had acid reflux or gerd before the surgery. But developed those symptoms later on specially the FIRST WEEKS AFTER VSG.

Iam currently moving to the fourth week after my vsg and I never had neither acid reflux nor gerd. I developed my symptoms after the second week . My doc put me on pantoprazole 40 twice daily but im never back to normal noting that I never eat anything heavy. Still on Soups or full liquids, rarely blended chicken with veggies and I barely have 3 spoonfuls.

My worries are all about will it ever get better??

Will I ever tolerate new real food some day without having acid reflux, gerd, stomach troubles wrecking my life?

Sending you all so much lovesmiley-heart.gif

It gets better. However, it may take some more time. I have noticed that my sleeve prefers my solid food lukewarm and not hot. Try eating your solid food at a cooler temperature if you have not tried that.

Acid reflux after sleeve was a possible side effect discussed at length in my pre surgery seminars.

45-50% of sleevers will experience some degree of GERD after surgery.

Most symptoms are managable with medication. Some become severe enough to require a sleeve to bypass conversion.

Try to be patient with your healing process before jumping to conclusions about what your situation will be long term.

Also, keep in mind that getting your microbiota (the bacteria that live in your gut) rebalanced in healthy populations can affect symptoms. That will happen as you heal and add more foods back to your diet.

Wishing you the best, and a quick reduction in symptoms.
