Recommended Posts

Y’all idk.. I’m so connected to this fat suit I don’t know if I’m ready to give it up. What flips when they finally give you a date?!? I was SO READY and excited doing all of my pre-op testing/appts then bam, got that call today and I’m freaking out!

It perfectly normal. The truth is you are ready. Your mind is xxxxwith you ignore it. So happy you have this chance to transform your life. Open your arms and embrace it. Do your liquid diet and rock it.

It's all very normal and very much a part of your journey! I can remember experiencing some similar emotions. That much said, I am glad that I went through with it. Post-op has been easy for me from a physical standpoint but not from an emotional one. Today it all came to a head and the good cry was relieving. Please go through with this. Do it out of love for yourself, do it for us. We're all alongside of you. Being obese is no way to live: it is a sad, slow decline leading to an inevitable and morbid conclusion. You are worth it!

I kinda felt the same way today! Who will I be in a couple of months after surgery? Will I regret this? Being fat is all I've ever known.

But everyone is right! You're worth it! & so am I [emoji1]

I got my surgery date on Monday , I was excited but now I am nervous too. Thinking about the sacrifices I'll have to make and changes but I have to keep telling myself about the big picture . The big picture of a healthier life. With sacrifices comes huge gain of getting our lives back. I lost a good amount of weight already prior to this surgery and can tie my shoes without getting out of breath , I can walk a bit more now, fit into clothes better , I snore less. Those are just a few things we don't even realize sometimes that are effecting us and our way of living. So counter those negative thoughts with all the positive possibilities. I am looking forward to hopefully going sky diving, fitting in a seat for roller coasters , being able to walk at the amusement park, buying clothes that cost less because of sizing (you know plus size clothes can get expensive fast lol ). Remember you're beautiful already and worth change that can better your life . It's going to be a struggle and that's the scary part but we'll make it through ! Congratulations on getting your surgery date . Mine is April 19. We got this girl!

Trinjen---- yes it is your fat suit but it is old, wrinkled and tired. Why not opt for something sleeker, trimmer, prettier in color, that looks GOOD on you? No long will you be baggy, saggy and draggy. You'll look fit, feel fit and be fit. Whoeee! It will be so worth it. Looking forward to my own retailoring, my spring cleaning plans have that on my list. New pastel clothes instead looking and being the shape of a charcoal briquet in a dark wardrobe. No more frust8tion--- I'm going to be SO FINE!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
