redhead_che 824 Posted March 15, 2018 Miralax or Milk of Magnesia. I use miralax if it’s only been a day or so. I use MoM when I feel real backed up. Which is thankfully not often because that stuff tastes nasty. 1 angyplus5 reacted to this

Bhageerah 161 Posted March 15, 2018 I had been having issues with things moving like they should! With all the Protein I was locked up tighter than Fort Knox! Mom was a health food nut and told me about psyllium awhile ago, I now take magnesium pills twice a day as well as taking several psyllium capsules a day. The combination of the two keeps me "regular" without having to worry about a complete blow out. (sorry if that is TMI) One great thing about the psyllium is that it also absorbs grease and cholesterol so it is serving a dual purpose! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted March 16, 2018 @Bhageerah Yes! Sing it my brothah! Holy crap! Literally right?!! Hey so how long post op was it before you started the psyllium? I think half of my issue is I had to stop mine at surgery and I have lost that lovin' feeling from it! Can't wait to get to start taking it again!
AuDBall 32 Posted March 16, 2018 (edited) One serving of Miralax every other day keeps me regular! I do try to incorporate high Fiber foods, too. Another thing worth noting is it took a few weeks after surgery for it to regulate, at least for me. Edited March 16, 2018 by AuDBall
nevermore71 63 Posted March 16, 2018 My nutritionist said I couldn't take psyllium capsules. She said due to the nature of the sleeve they could get caught outside the stomach and choke me or something like that. I did use psyllium when I did Keto and they worked well though. Wish I could use them again. Anyways miralax will help keep things soft but not necessarily moving. Occasionally have to take a laxative to keep things moving. So what about psyllium husks mixed in smoothies? Is that a no-no too? I don't really like benefiber. I used to do a psyllium smoothie or psylli tea every day. It was awesome!!! And the thing I don't get is on the back of the Miralax bottle it says don't use longer than 7 days. But you hear people on here who have been taking it for year. It's propylene glycol! I don't wanna have to take that everyday the rest of my life. Sniff..I know this isn't about me... Edited March 16, 2018 by FluffyChix
