Newbie...being banded Weds 10/31

Hi I am being banded the day after tomorrow. My name is Ginny, and I am a relatively 'low" BMI, so the doctor did NOT put me on a pre-surg diet. Therefore, I have been eating my way through town this weekend. Truthfully, I am SICK of food and wish tomorrow was the big day instead of WEds!

Thanks for letting me introduce myself. Looking forward to joining everyone in Band Land.

I had my "last supper" for two weeks before surgery. My doctor did not put me on a pre-op diet. Every day was like: "oooo let's have this...for the last time" or "I just gotta have one of those before I can't have them again." You know what was funny I lost 2 pounds before surgery! (I think the doctor's scale was broken!)

Good luck tomorrow on you new path. We will be waiting for you on the other side.

Amy - that is exactly what happened to me. I went to Disneyland the week before surgery and ate my way thru the place- and lost two pounds!

Snappy - good luck, we are starting out at just about the same place (and have the same weight loss goal) and so you should know that it has been a wonderful 4 weeks for me. I was banded 10/08 and am headed to the dr today for my post op check up so I will have an official update on weight loss today.

You will do fine tomorrow and you will wonder why you waited to do this - I sure did. Sometimes I even wonder if he really put the band in because I feel no pain at all and just like I did before, except better because of the food choices that I am making.

Keep in touch - since we have a similar journey ahead we could be weight loss buddies!
