KeileeWilliams 2 Posted March 15, 2018 Hello everyone my name is Keilee and I’m new here. I had the gastric sleeve on the 20th of February. Before the pre op diet I was 317lbs After the pre op diet I was 306lbs and then 2 weeks post op I was 276lbs. within a week my weight shot back up to 295lbs. I’ll admit I haven’t been as active as I should be but I’m active now, I mentioned that to my doctor already. Now I have a new problem. I’m not getting full! I’m not even so much as satisfied. I was able to eat 2 scrambled eggs today and I had a tuna pack 1 hour before that. I don’t get sick but I have eaten things ahead of my current step by mistake. On top of that I experience little to no pain. I feel very normal actually. Did my stomach stretch out? I feel depressed now because I think it stretched out and it was a waste. 2 Dametris and clambert1978 reacted to this
Healthy_life2 8,327 Posted March 15, 2018 Check with your Dr. to see if you need a "stretched sleeve" revision surgery. Its rare. 19 pounds in a week is a medical concern. Normal for the sleeve to expand with thime. It's not "stretched" this is the progression out from surgery. The restriction is still there. After surgery your restriction is tight. The restriction will change. How much you can hold years out will be different for each of us. Surgery few oz Might get 600+ calories first few months 4 oz five months to a year 6 oz to 8 oz 1200+ calories One year out half a plate. five to ten years a full plate "Grazing" is usually the cause of weight gain. You have a new point of volume and sensation of full. If you eat high calories throughout each day . (calories can be combination of good and bad food choices) It's the same effect as if you didn't have surgery. An excess of 500 calories will cause you to gain weight. Medical professional explanation on misuse of the term "stretched sleeve" to back this up below: Dr. Matthew Weiner Published on Mar 16, 2015 "Stomach Stretching" is the term used by many weight loss (Bariatric) surgery patients to explain the changes in their appetite and food consumption after surgery. Dr. Weiner explains what's really happening and how to prevent it. 1 1 KeileeWilliams and Fabtastic reacted to this

FluffyChix 17,418 Posted March 15, 2018 Hey Jenn, she has the same concern I do. We're barely 3 weeks out and feel like we can eat a lot of fuckin food without feeling discomfort. ((hugs)) 2 KeileeWilliams and bluetink50 reacted to this
XYZXYZXYZ1955 675 Posted March 15, 2018 You can check with your doctor to see if you've done anything to injure your surgery, although I think it's unlikely. It's possible that what you're experiencing is "head hunger" rather than actual hunger. Are you eating the right amount of Protein? Are you drinking enough Water? Do you track your eating to see how many calories you're getting each day? Exercise is good, yes, but you can certainly lose weight without a lot of exercise. You are early in the process, though, so take a breath and don't stress out! There will be stalls and times when the weight goes up instead of down, but if you follow the program, it'll be more down than anything else, and probably more down than ever before. Good luck. 2 1 KeileeWilliams, Mattymatt and FluffyChix reacted to this

I haven’t really been tracking but I’m going to start. Currently I only eat scrambled eggs and tuna but I think I’m eating too much.

No gain for me, but I feel like I can eat too much if I let myself. I easily can eat 1/2 cup and some things could eat 3/4 cup total food . That's 2oz dense Protein, 1/4 cooked veg, 1/4 smashed cauliflower, plus 1oz low carb low cal gravy. I'm eating fork tender foods and 450-550 Cals, 60-65g protein at only 3weeks. That sounds like a lot of fickin food for 3 weeks?

I forgot to mention for the first 2 weeks after surgery I was dehydrated because I didn’t drink Protein Shakes because I couldn’t get them down. I wasn’t drinking at all, barely a few sips of Water a day. So when I got on the purée stage is when I started to eat and drink again. It can happen, What I've done is go back to the basics doing 3 protien shakes a day with a high protien low carb meal once a day for 5days. Some call this a sleeve reset, but it works trust me.
