Heatherd86 5 Posted March 15, 2018 Hello! My name is Heather and my surgery date is 4/20, yay! I am a little lotta nervous, but have been wondering about Vitamins. At my last appointment, the doctor told me I needed to start taking them. I am fine with taking all the vitamins I need now (B12, Vitamin D, etc), but how does everyone take their vitamins after surgery? A friend told me that she uses Patches, does anyone else do this? If so, where do you buy them from?
Biddy zz 🏳️🌈 1,004 Posted March 15, 2018 I have heard the Patches are of dubious merit - not enough research yet on what you do actually absorb, or don’t. My surgeon won’t allow them for that reason. There are great chewable vitamins out there. Flinstones chewables. Or Celebrate. Look in the Bariatric Pal Store on this site - they have a great range! The nice thing is that it is easy. All you do is take 4 a day. I know that Walgreens sells them.
Darron Acklin 0 Posted March 15, 2018 I really like ProCare Bariatric Vitamins. I only have to take 1 chewable a day and it takes care of everything that my Doctor wants me to have.
aNYCdb 310 Posted March 15, 2018 I like the Trader Joe's chewables, they are cheap, go down easy, and I can get them without a separate trip to the store.
frust8 963 Posted March 15, 2018 Does it have to be those hard chewable? I wear dentures and. I would rather not have them rock back and forth chomping. Guess that's why I was hoping for liquid or gummies. I have had Vitafusion B complex and the gummies do dissolve away. I guess it's the equivalent of having tobacco smoke flavored nicotine gum.
