Acrylic Nails - do I need to remove them?

Recommended Posts

Good morning. My sleeve surgery is this Friday, 3/16. I didn't receive any instruction about acrylic nails. I do have them, but they are a French manicure (clear with white on the tips). Do I need to remove them all, some, none? I don't want to get there and have the surgery cancelled because of my nails. Thanks in advance.

I didn’t have to do anything and they didn’t mention it and I have gel.

Call and ask if you’re worried about it.

Good luck tomorrow! Be sure to check in after!

Generally yes. Call and find out. Mine was no polish, no fake/acrylic/gel nails so the pulse-ox can be accurate. Better safe than try to remove them just before surgery.

Mine never said anything until I asked, and good thing I did! They said just one needed to be free though. I believe they can also use toes, so ask about that.

This is typically done, but it's usually for only one finger (a ring finger is ideal)
