raeancin 6 Posted March 14, 2018 Hi NocaLove,I understand it's easy to get overwhelmed. I am in no way a dietician on an expert so please understand my advice may not be the best. My focus is always on balance. I need to balance the macronutrients (proteins, carbs, fats) in my meals. Although you should be aware of calories, they are not as important as understanding how to fuel your body with nutrients. Choose whole foods. "Diet, low fat and low sugar" type foods aren't what I consider whole foods. Choose foods naturally low in sugar instead of sweetened with some type of chemical. Also, do your own research, ask lots of questions, don't be scared to ask for help wh n you need it. Good luck.Sent from my SM-G900W8 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 deliandroge reacted to this

frust8 963 Posted March 14, 2018 And you will get the hang of it, it's a different way of thinking about food, it is fuel, not entertainment, not your only friend, it doesn't understand you but you need to understand it and bend it to your will, not the will of the food bending you. You'll learn Fast food is Not Good food, my grandma said" A moment on the, lips, Forever on the Hips", I hated to think she was right. Fast food has no conscience, it exists to ensnare you in its seductive web. It is quick, readily accessible and we've been trained to,love it mindlessly. As an example the Happy Meal, containing a gooey little hamburger or cheeseburger, greasy French fries and a plastic toy that may or may not gouge out your little eye. Now in recent years it's reformed a little but the premise still remains, its the only little boxed meal thats "HAPPY", Mc Donalds probably has the name trademarked. And I am a sadder but wiser former participant in their little army. I still carry their shrapnel as 2 big buttocks, wide enough to show drive- in movies on . And having been there so long, as I lose weight, they are pockmarked and flabby. And their evil compatriots Long John Silver's, In and Out Burger, Carl Jr/Hardees, Checkers/Rallys, Fritches Big Boy, they all were gunning for me. I worshipped at Church's Fried chicken , I had more food spouses than a polygamist. Now it's hard to divorce them all, human nature is to keep one or two somewhere in the background, but no no no they all got to go! Sorry if I sound preachy but I hasn't been easy to rid myself of years of excess, calories that is. Sniffle sniffle. But you will win your battles just as I will. And your dietician will be a helper in steering you the right way. Listen and Learn. I'm going to the kitchen to make sure nobody snuck into the pantry. They are devious! Bye now!Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
