I was checking on forum and most people say insurance payed for Lapband but was it 100% cause I talked to my insurance and I think they only going to cover 80% but im not sure... I dont see my doctor till Nov 26.

Another question... They said when I see doctor i will need to complete couple test.... so how long does it take to complete and when will they talk to my insurance company?

Hi Antsmith; well my ins. only paid 80% although I could of sworn it was gonna be 100%. I started my journey in January and got surgery in June.

I was kinda mad because they said that it would be a 3-4 months turn around but since I had gained 10lbs during that time, my doctor (with his nice self) said that he wasn't gonna do it until I can lose it!!! well I lost it and the rest if history and I love it, love it, love it!!!

Thanks Goodtime...

I'm just little worried cause 20% of 15-20k, is little expensive to just pull out of pocket and pay. Well appointment in couple weeks so ill find out then

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
