Seahawks Fan 771 Posted March 12, 2018 I’ll be 8 weeks on Thursday and I should already know this but I don’t. Can sleevers have coffee at this point? I’ve heard yes & no but wasn’t paying attention to when or at what point from surgery.
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted March 12, 2018 ((hugs)) I got decaff on day 2 as part of clears. Think it really depends on decaff v. caff. But it may be diff for sleeve v. rny? Hang in there my friend! 1 Seahawks Fan reacted to this
The Dora Milaje 69 Posted March 12, 2018 I was able to have Decaf right after surgery. That's what I drink anyway (caffeine is like crack in my system). 2 Toomanytacos and Seahawks Fan reacted to this
Allie589 171 Posted March 12, 2018 I had coffee right away too and used Monk Fruit sweetener while I was healing. They worry about letting us have it too soon bc of the acid as well as being a diarrhetic so just drink an extra glass of water!! 8 weeks out you shld be totally fine Sleeved 8/7/17 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 188 on 3/7/18 5'7" GW: 150 1 Seahawks Fan reacted to this
Toomanytacos 251 Posted March 12, 2018 T! YES! I was drinking decaff the first week after surgery, day 2 after surgery. I wasn't supposed to drink caffeine for a month out, but I hate teh taste of decaff coffee. Yuck. But so I drank regular coffee a week out, until now I not only lived. I didn't get dehydrated There are some rules that are put in place "just in case" but you should be fine The reason for the decaff instead of caffee, is bc caffeine tends to make you pe more, and they are afraid you'll become dehydrated since you can't drink as much liquids right after surgery Enjoy! 1 Seahawks Fan reacted to this
RW29 5 Posted March 12, 2018 I am 7 weeks out and started drinking Hazelnut Decaf about two weeks before surgery and still LOVE it. I don't know that I really need to go back to regularly coffee. I was told it was OK to have caffeine in VERY small amounts. 2 Toomanytacos and Seahawks Fan reacted to this
abefroman329 704 Posted March 12, 2018 Check your binder! It’s in there, and it’s your Bible! Mine allowed me to drink 8 oz of Decaf as soon as the liquid phase. My bariatric cookbook included a recipe for a frappe-type drink that used decaf. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
deltagirl93 79 Posted March 12, 2018 My program gives the green light to regular coffee six weeks out, but warns that it may trigger hunger.
