Hahaha! Hilarious.

It's true, but not breaking news. LOL. My guy friends used to hang out in the produce section for as long as they could to pick up babes. LOL. Asking a woman how to pick out tomatoes or cantaloupe was their schtick. ROFLMAO. And they WERE successful!

You cannnnn doooooo eeeetttttt! :D

Yeah, LOL ... they don't call it a "meat market" for nothing. It's funny but I actually believe that it really does work. But seriously, meeting people whilst grocery shopping clearly doesn't work for me and that is probably because I am obese. I may smile at someone who I think is attractive but very rarely is the smile returned, much less even acknowledged; I am invisible. In fact, I hate grocery shopping because it is a constant, nagging reminder of the fact that I am fat.

Omg!!! This is too much. I love it.

I once ran into a man at the Whole Foods. We were in the fruit Aisle:360_strawberry:. I was looking for a platter of the best picked assorted, exotic fruit they had to offer. I found that platter and I reached out ever so gently to retrieve it. Our hands :1298_raised_hands_tone4:touched and for a second we stared deeply into each other eyes:unsure:. A look of longing:54_hushed:, as we both desired those delicious fruits. For a moment we could not look away:71_smiling_imp:. Then some chick came she took the damn fruit:49_triumph:. Oh it was about to go down. She almost caught all my hands:1323_punch_tone4: . but I let it slide as the employee brought out a freshly made platter.

Hi @Mattymatt. I agree with @336Mike about grocery shopping now. But I do remember, all too well, how it feels to feel invisible. Being judged by my body size in a grocery store or Walmart sucked. I felt it every time. I was mortified when I ran into someone from college or high school. Most of them didn't even acknowledge that they knew me. Still nursing those battle scars. Tks for being vulnerable & posting something that can be so hurtful.

Wait, I ask women in the grocery store all the time for help, for help, not for pickups. Nothing ever came of it....

Should I have hung out more in the chocolate and ice cream isles for rebounders?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
