I wish I'd done it sooner. This is my only regret

I honestly believe that where we're at is where we're supposed to be in life.

I'm also in recovery (7 years in May) from drugs and alcohol, so that helps keep my serenity where it needs to be.

So how was the park and how are you doing? Still looking forward to surgery day? I know I am, it's been so long it may almost seem anticlimactic but I still will be filled with joy![emoji12][emoji13][emoji12]

Good morning... she enjoyed the park as much as I did. I begin my pre-op appointments on Wednesday so its beginning to get real. Still battling the sugar demon. How are you?

Sinusitis which has persisted for close to a month. On my 4th antibiotic to try to clear it up. When I blow my nose and I do that fairly frequently, I think that Barbie woman was right--i am rotten inside. Ah but she was the only pile of bovine excrement I've ever, met on Bariatric Pal. Most people on here are beautiful people who are very helpful to everyone. Am I closer to surgery? Not really but the wheels are still turning but not with much speed. I have a 2. hour psych appointment at OSU with their staff psychologist Dr Kramer 10AM-Noon at Martha Morehouse Pavilion in Columbus. My PCP says to just act like my wonderful, self and things will be fine. What if they screw me over like the other program did? How,much sorrow and frustration am I supposed to accept? Since I completed all of the prerequirements from the other program will they accept them all? So many questions So few answers--- what next?[emoji31][emoji13][emoji31]

Wow! My process has been rather fast. I began in November with the nutritionist; had my psych evaluation, endoscopy and now getting the pre-op clearance from my PCP. I pray things go well for you and the sinusitis is cleared up soon.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
