Hi all, I'm getting sleeved on 3/19 and one of the things I've been doing is compiling a list of things I'm looking forward to doing that I can't do now, to keep me motivated once I start losing. I'd love to hear the things that you're excited to do, or for those of you who are already sleeved, that you can do now! I've been over 300 since the age of 19 (I'm 40 now) so there is a lot I have never been able to do. Some examples from my list:

-wearing boots

-camping

-going to Disneyland (we are planning this for 2019)

-ice skating

-flying and driving comfortably

-shopping at thrift stores (you can never find good supersize clothes at thrift shops)

Share some of yours! Thanks in advance! :)

There are things I was looking forward to that happened and an even better category of things I didn't know that I wanted but really did!

So, in the first category - fitting comfortably in airplane seats, being able to climb subway stairs without feeling like I am going to pass out, walk all over NYC without feeling like I am going to pass out, shopping for clothes I actually like, enjoying physical activity, no longer being oriented around food/eating and finding other interests.

What I really love now that I never thought I would - Strength training, walking up hills, shopping at Zara, cooking healthy food, running errands and being active.

Summertime bucket list - sailing, horseback riding and going on a great vacation.

One thing that comes to mind is having a guy pick you up with his hands under your butt and lift you to kiss you... without straining. That one blew my mind.

I have so many things I would love to do,

but as a total geek I will say : a nice cosplay.

I do not allow myself to do any cosplay at the moment because I think it looks horrible.... I am very self conscious and it's the kind of thing that irks me.

I want to travel, not be shy to wear a bathing suit, cute knee high boots, pretty corsets.

I hate plus size fashion soooo much, I keep looking like an aunt....

I'd also like to make another trip to New Zealand but more comfortably. Last time I was so cramped and embarrassed. I thought I could just not wear a seat belt and they wouldn't notice but the flight attendant came around checking. He looked at me and was not discreet at all. He hollered across the dang plane to tell another flight attendant that I needed a seat belt extender and pointed at me. I don't think I could have felt worse...

Totally feel you. I never had the guts to ask for one and a few flights with my husband I just pretended to belt myself which was so stupid and dangerous but at the time I couldn’t bring myself to ask for an extender. I gave in and actually bought an extender online that I use when we fly. Can’t wait to go on another trip to see if I fit now! Haha. Looking forward to that day and throwing away my extender!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
