Favorite things you can do now that you couldn't before, or things you're looking forward to doing?

Hi all, I'm getting sleeved on 3/19 and one of the things I've been doing is compiling a list of things I'm looking forward to doing that I can't do now, to keep me motivated once I start losing. I'd love to hear the things that you're excited to do, or for those of you who are already sleeved, that you can do now! I've been over 300 since the age of 19 (I'm 40 now) so there is a lot I have never been able to do. Some examples from my list:

-wearing boots

-camping

-going to Disneyland (we are planning this for 2019)

-ice skating

-flying and driving comfortably

-shopping at thrift stores (you can never find good supersize clothes at thrift shops)

Share some of yours! Thanks in advance! :)

Wipe my booty without breaking an arm or a blood vessel.

Reach my feet to scrub 'em.

Paint my toenails dayglo orange!

Ooh, girl . . . the boots. I could barely squeeze into boots before surgery, and I can wear so many styles now!

I can cross my legs. You don't realize how big of a deal that is until you can do it again!

I can keep up with my daughter when we are running from place to place at her dance competitions. THAT is huge for me . . . I was struggling big time last year!!

I fit comfortably into chairs in public places (movies, concerts, sporting events). I don't feel like I am squishing myself into them and possibly bugging the people next to me.

I've still got about 60 lbs to go, but it has been great so far!! :)

I’m mainly looking forward to being able to do day to day activities without breathing through my arse!

Other than that I’m looking forward to:

Horse riding again

Being able to walk my dogs and enjoy it

Kayaking

Cycling

And then I will go to swanky places to wear this dress!

I'm really looking forward to donating clothes. Whenever I lost weight I'd be too paranoid to throw out the bigger sizes, even though when I did regain the clothes weren't fashionable anymore. So now I want to try things on, realize they're too big, and place them directly in the donation bin rather than saving them just in case. That also means I won't have to deal with the morning ritual of trying on everything in my closet to try and find the one combo that's event-appropriate and also fits, leaving a pile of clothing in my wake.

I look forward to the day I take my rings in to have them sized down. I've always used how my rings fit as a gauge for where I'm at weight-wise. When they're falling off I'll know I've made progress.

I want to buy cute shoes... I have never been able to buy cute shoes. I almost always just give up and buy men's shoes because I currently wear a men's size 11 (women's 12wide.) I'm thinking maybe this isn't possible but I'm still hoping.

Your feet will shrink and maybe even go down a size! I used to wear 9s now they’re all too big. I’ve been trying on 8 and 8.5 in shoes.

This is a good thread! Keep ‘em coming! I just got my surgery date and I’m a little terrified!

I'm pretty scared myself. My surgery date is May 2nd. I'm still not sure how I feel other than nervous. I hope you do well. Good luck

I know this feeling but in reverse. I never got my ring resized up instead it just went in a drawer in the dresser. The day i put it back on for the first time in many years was more emotional than i care to admit.

Oh my... I had not thought of that... I will now have yet another reason to stress myself out... My partner got me a specific type of ring that's said to help people that have anxiety issues. It can't be sized...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
