BrittneyH 45 Posted March 7, 2018 Does anyone else have this? When I eat too heavy of food that my stomach doesn't like I start spitting up sticky clear liquid like phlegm. I just spit it into a tissue but never actually throw up the food. I am 3 weeks post surgery. Anybody know what this is or why my body does this?
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted March 7, 2018 (edited) What you're describing sounds like "the foamies" or "the slimes".....what happens is that your stomach gets a little stuck for a few minutes and you can't swallow your saliva because it has no where to go. If you walk and breath deeply, your diaphragm will put pressure on your stomach and stimulate peristalsis...and eventually your stomach will move things along and this will go away. Very very common. You'll grow out of it. As your stomach inflamation goes away and you get used to eating a little more....it should resolve. Just pay close attention to chewing well and taking small bites.
