I'M OFFICIALLY AT MY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION WEIGHT!!! Met my personal goal!

Hard to fathom almost a year ago, 3/13, I was in the hospital with BP 250/150+ on a bipap machine and as unhealthy as ever. And here I am today, on no major medications and 140 pounds healthier! 1520429593169.jpg 1511707645089.jpg

The decision to have surgery changed my life for the better. No regrets...living instead of existing. It doesn't get any better than that!

@336Mike my graduating class is meeting this August, I hate to admit it has been 55 years. If you're doing math to figure how this could could be, I graduated at 17 although most of my classmates were 18. I had hoped for a phenomenal weight loss before then. As slow as my road has been-- I will be grateful for what I can achieve. It be counting coup if someone would say Oh my God _____ is that really YOU? But yippy Skippy for what happens. At any rate, YOU are looking fine! PS Go,read my newest thread 48 hours to a Day of Hope, it's one of my most heartfelt postings.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
