Hoop Jumping

Recommended Posts

Well, I'm done jumping through hoops.

I had my $60, 15 minute exercise consultation and my $150, 20 minute psych evaluation this week. Both were fine. The psychiatrist said I was an excellent candidate for the surgery, which means I successfully tricked him into thinking I'm sane.

My surgery date was confirmed for January 31st, and they told me it would be $15,000. They've been saying $16,000 the entire time, so a $1000 break rocks. Although, I won't be shocked if they end up billing me $16,000.

Anyway... two weeks to go! I start the pre-op (low carb) diet on Monday. Now I need to find one of those places that give you your meal for free if you can eat their 48 ounce steak ;) That's something I'll never be able to after January, huh? =)

Yeah, Jonathan, you're a few steps closer! After banding, you will be able to eat steak and you won't leave out of there feeling "green around the gills" from stuffing yourself.

Hooray Jonathan! I'm so happy for you to have gotten thru all the hoops and have a confirmed banding date. WTG guy!

Excellent news, Jonathan! January 31 is almost here; in another month you'll be a bandster moving into mushy foods. I'm sure there must be a Texas steakhouse near you somewhere that can rise to your carnivore challenge.

With steak, please be sure it is lean and moist. Use a steak sauce if necessary. Take very small bites and chew, chew, chew before swallowing. I'm in Houston and have to have my steak! Grilled pork chops are great also. My one and only sliming experience was on a dry chicken strip. I should have had a dipping sauce.

Congratulations, Jonathan--you're really on your way! Try to keep the last-meal syndrome to a minimum. You really don't want to ADD obstacles for your surgeon, right? All best wishes for a very smooth and uneventful surgery!
