Hello my name is Ladydeenj and I am addicted to coffee!!! So..... having to stop it was so difficult! The choice was Decaf or nothing and for a week I chose nothing!!!! However, the feel of a hot cup of coffee early in the start of the day was greatly missed! So.... I decided on decaf, 1/2 cup with Carmel premier protein!!!! There is a God!!!! Holy smokes that was delicious and fulfilling and yes folks it’s a love connection !!! 3 cheers for living la vida loca.

I have a Keurig and I bought the Dunkin Donuts Decaf variety. While I can definitely taste a difference between regular and decaf, this brand seems to be much better.

I got the ok to go back to caffeine laden coffee and I swear I danced. My stomach is made of Iron, and I healed fast. My surgeon just said, "NO SUGAR!". I love my black coffee and Jordan's Skinny syrups.

No cream??? Well I guess it’s good ! I can’t get myself to drink it black!

I've been drinking it on weekends, but I really need to get back to drinking something caffeinated in the mornings to get me going. Probably tea until it's warm enough to start making cold brew coffee again, since drip coffee seven days in a row really wreaked havoc on my insides pre-surgery (and who knows what it would do afterwards!)

Start slowly and be careful. If I were you, I would try a small sip of the caffeinated variety and see how you tolerate that. It would suck to have major reflux because you had 8 ozs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
