TeresaBlount 9 Posted March 4, 2018 So I had my surgery 12/14/17, I started out at 356, before surgery I was down to 341 and currently at 301. I have seen others on here who have loss 50+ lbs and are down lots of clothes sizes, I have gone from 26 to 24 which is only in some pants, although shirt sizes I can wear some 3x-2x. Which is way better than 4x. I know my main problem isn't eating but exercising. But by the time I get off work, I am exhausted, and have no energy. Any advice is welcome. That is 4lbs per week which is WELL above the average of 3lbs/week. Congrats! You're a quick loser!!! Now stop comparing yourself to others! Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted March 4, 2018 Congrats on your progress!!! Plus clothes sizes have about a 30lb range and are predominantly stretch fabric, so you are on track for that. Once you get into regular sizes the range is closer to 10-12lbs, so get ready for some fun shopping!! Also we have to consider where we hold our fat - mine is hugest in the stomach and I lose there slower, so my waist is thicker and pants sizes have to accommodate that overhang. Everyone loses at their own pace. At this point just walking is good. Post a daily example of your intake. Also, I heard once that typically you go down a size every time you lose 10% of your weight. Keep up the great work! Currently 301. 200's coming your way...You are doing great! changing to do more physical activity can be done. Motivation is something we all have to find for ourselves. What motivates me may not motivate you. Many days I had to force myself to get activity in. I was a true couch potato. A large reason I was so overweight and my health was in decline. I always put other people first..Work, kids husband etc. After surgery, I made myself a priority. Third month I had a large stall. I had to admit to myself I needed to get real about my exercise commitment. Exercise has made a difference in my weight loss. Working out doesn't mean it has to be high impact. If it's cold outside a treadmill in you home, walk a mall or a gym membership works well. Workout videos, weights at home...Lots of options. KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted March 4, 2018 There is definitely a lot more pounds to come off to lose clothing sizes in a higher weight range, I’m in the same boat as you are you. It is hard sometimes to intentionally exercise, especially if you started at a higher weight. Sometimes just going through a day was exhausting. Have you tried easing into it by just doing some active things in your normal life on your days off when you aren’t so tired from work? I’ve been trying to do things like yard work, washing my car, etc. Physical things that are not exercise per se but will burn more calories than me sitting on my sofa! frust8 963 Posted March 4, 2018 Amen Kim, I'm paddling that canoe also, think I may put a garden out when the weather gets warm enough, do more walking, & maybe take up biking. I've got to stop being a couch potato or a bed recliner. Every pound that comes off though, I feel a little better, I’m able to walk a little farther. My knees don’t hurt quite so much, my back doesn’t ache as badly. As I am able to do more it just is more motivation to stay on the right track. Being so obese it was becoming so difficult to physically do my job. Sometimes I would cry I just hurt so bad. Something had to change, or I was not going to be able to continue on. This was a hard decision to make, but I’m already happy I made it.
