2018 2 Posted March 4, 2018 Hi guys! I’m currently waiting for all my doctors appointments. I was curious about the nutrition class versus the dietician appointments. Will the nutrition class help me understand what I need to eat prior to surgery or is that the dietician? My closest appointment is my nutrition class on 3/9. I’ve got almost ALL my appointments scheduled for this month so things are moving fast. Any tips?
Astarisborn 4 Posted March 4, 2018 My nutrition class went over everything. She talked about what we should be eating right now, our preop diet, and post op diet.

Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted March 4, 2018 This is probably 'surgeon/clinic' specific as to what is presented vs dietician monitored appointments. At appointments we went over my food journal, exercise journal - so she could submit to insurance for compliance -and permanent changes made in my eating behavior. My clinic did not have an actual nutrition class, everyone was given a binder filled with all the surgery information, dietary guidelines, acceptable Protein Shakes, Vitamins required, permission forms, exercise journal, schedule to make appointments for labs, EGD test, sleep study, stress test, what was expected regarding compliance in their 6 month plan, warnings if you did not comply that you would only get one 'get out of jail free' card or have to start over on your 6 month ticker. Good luck. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
