bamby021 27 Posted March 4, 2018 I have seen that many people are saying they are full after very little. Is your full feeling the same full feeling that you had prior to surgery? Does it feel different after? I'm at the point where I can finally eat things like chicken and some veggies..I didn't get that full feeling that I had before, I just stopped eating because I was afraid to over eat.. But didn't feel full. Especially since it was my first time eating chicken. blizair09 3,250 Posted March 4, 2018 i"m 17 months post-op. To be honest, I have made it a policy to never eat until I am "full." I have always eaten specific amounts to meet specific calorie and macro quantities. Even at this point, a typical meal for me is 3 oz of dense Protein (chicken, beef, pork, salmon, etc.) and 1.5 oz of green vegetables. I repeat every 2 hours. (Save for Breakfast where I have 1 jumbo egg scrambled with 2 oz of chicken breast and 1 piece of bacon). 2 bamby021 and FluffyChix reacted to this

It feels as if the food has filled up my esophagus and if I have one more bite it’s gonna hurt. I also weighed everything until I was good enough to judge it by eye. That way I would know I was eating enough but wouldn’t overeat. 1 bamby021 reacted to this
Losebig 508 Posted March 4, 2018 I measure everything, but when I’m very close to full I get a pain in my left shoulder and/or hiccup. I stop immediately when that happens, if I have a mouthful of food I spit it out. The difference between satisfied and painful for me can be a single bite. Afterwards I have a classic ‘full’ type of feeling. 2 FluffyChix and bamby021 reacted to this
BostonWLKC 807 Posted March 4, 2018 It’s definitely different for me. I don’t get a full feeling ...I feel like the food sits in my throat (assume that’s food that isn’t in the stomach bc it’s full?? Dunno)Either way- I always measure and just go with 3-4 ounces HW 242, SW 236- (Bypass 12/20/17)GW#1- 199 [emoji736] (2/11/18)GW#2- 175CW 191.45’6” 1 bamby021 reacted to this
Numbergurl37 201 Posted March 4, 2018 I get full but not like before surgery. If I over eat something my nose runs and depending on what it is I salivate more and sometimes hiccup. I am about 15 months post op and can eat about 4 oz of meat...its weird though because one day I can only eat about half of hamburger and other days i can almost finish it. I am also one of the few that doesnt get pain when I drink carbonated drinks...such as ICE brand flavored water and once in while i have some coke or ginger aleSent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app 1 bamby021 reacted to this

FluffyChix 17,418 Posted March 4, 2018 Well, I think I'm too soon post surgery to know really since you know, those nerves have been cut. So I'm measuring and weighing everything and going by that. But I will say, that something happens toward the bottom of my portion, and I end up leaving a bite or two there. It's an intuition. I call it my spidey senses. There is something that clicks over in my brain, despite having no physical cue that says, "Danger! Danger! Danger Will Robinson! Run Away! Run Away!" So I push away from my meal and table, get up and clear my plate. Dunno. It's very weird.
