This stuff is delicious!

Recommended Posts

This may be old news to you guys, but I came across this stuff called PB2. It’s powdered Peanut Butter. They’ve pressed all of the oil out and ground it down. Once you add Water to it, 2 tbsp = 50 cal/5 g Protein, 2 g sugar. The chocolate pb version is only slightly less protein, and one more gram of sugar, but delicious enough to be its own dessert.

Got it on Amazon.

Had it, love it and continue to use it in my shakes! That stuff is amazing! I got it at Walmart for not a great amount of money.

I agree, and my favorite shake is chocolate with a tablespoon of PB2, half a banana, a teaspoon of Decaf coffee granules and some ice cubes.

Has anyone added it to Protein Powder in a shaker bottle? Will it blend, or will it clump?

Honestly? It's widely available but it's got a buttwad of extra sugar that is unnecessary.

It's more inconvenient, but I order Peanut Butter Slim from vitacost. It's similar without all the extra added sugar and the burnt peanut taste that I always taste from PB2. I heart the stuff and buy it 2 jars at a time. LOL. I use it in my yogurt, cottage cheese and Protein smoothies. YUM!

That is the only way that I used it, in my line of work I don't have the time to mess with a stick blender, so I use a Blender Bottle, or a contigo bottle and have not had any issues. It blends it well and without a lot of clumps. You should not have any issues! This powder and the Torani sugar free Syrup are two of the main reasons I was able to make it through the two weeks post surgery. My palate was OVER the same chocolate and vanilla shakes that I had in the house, and to be honest at 6 months out I am just now going back to them to finish them off.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
