Creekimp13 5,840 Posted March 1, 2018 I used to hate oatmeal. Like...sincerely, truly hate it. From it's slimy dischargey goo, to it's bug-like bits....oatmeal just sucked. I wouldn't touch it. Today, I love oatmeal. I'm not just saying that. I'm eating it right now for lunch. Steel cut oats with a little splenda, a few chopped dried cherries, almonds and pecans. often, I have it with fresh fruit. Bananas, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, apples....it all works. I would rather eat this than most things in the world....and that baffles me. I thin it with a little premiere Protein and have a yogurt chaser. Can easily upgrade it to a 20g protein meal this way. Yep, it's carb heavy. But they're low glycemic carbs that don't cause spikes and it boasts lots of Fiber to support good gut bugs. And I love it. Did I mention I love it? Who knew I'd be an oatmeal eating fool? Yay Oatmeal! LOL 3 Sosewsue61, angyplus5 and ProudGrammy reacted to this

My plan allows for healthy carbs, but some discourage them. 2 Creekimp13 and Sosewsue61 reacted to this
mamamc32 132 Posted March 1, 2018 I haven't made oatmeal for a long time, but I used to like to make overnight oats. Now that you mentioned oatmeal, I am going to have to make some soon!! 1 Creekimp13 reacted to this

The Dora Milaje 69 Posted March 1, 2018 I have always hated it. I can't stomach the look of it, the texture -- nothing. Just looks like cat vomit to me. Maybe someday I'll try it again but I doubt it. 1 Creekimp13 reacted to this

Miss Topaz 300 Posted March 2, 2018 I love oatmeal. Except I bought some think thin Protein oatmeal while pre-op. One bowl of that almost turned me off oatmeal. However, I still have it so maybe I'll give it a 2nd chance tomorrow night in order to get some protein in for dinner. But if it's still nasty, it's going away! 1 Creekimp13 reacted to this
