kaynga 4 Posted March 1, 2018 So I'm going on 3 days of my pre-op diet, and I keep having spells where I get chills and intense nausea. Does anyone have advice? My diet is Premier Protein for Breakfast, lunch, and for dinner 6 oz of lean meat and nonstatch veggies. I've also been instructed not to take Vitamins. (I feel like such a wimp for being like this only 3 days out. I'm definitely not giving up, I'm just looking for ways to improve the situation)
Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted March 1, 2018 Could be carb withdrawal or a virus, hard to tell at this point. Prior to starting this liquid diet did you reduce carb intake at all?
KCgirl061 1,532 Posted March 1, 2018 (edited) Not sure what is in Premier Protien - but if it doesn't have sugar you could be detoxing from that? Sugar detox is brutal: headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, nausea, cravings. Edited March 1, 2018 by KCgirl061
kakatlady612 1,053 Posted March 1, 2018 Could be artificial sweeteners like Nutra Sweet or Splenda. Could even be stevia, some people are sensitive to those also.Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
kaynga 4 Posted March 5, 2018 I think it was like Keto flu. Good news is after 3 days it's stopped. Thank you for your advice everyone!! It helped a lot.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
karmanodrama 31 Posted March 6, 2018 I would call the surgeon. Those are not typical symptoms of sugar or caffeine withdrawal. Dont worry about being a wimp.
