This makes a great microwave casserole. I mix it up in a big bowl, then spoon into 4oz ramekins and seal them for dinners.

Here are 2 really easy dinner ideas. I currently have the jalapeño sausage out of the freezer, I normally use the same brand Italian sausage.

Cut up the sausage add peppers and onions or whatever veggies you like and sauté them a few minutes. I put the low carb tortilla in the oven to dry out a bit then put a tablespoon of pizza sauce on it. Top with sausage and veggies then sprinkle 1/4 cup of part skim mozzarella on it and bake it at 400 for 8 minutes or so.

Second one, repeat just about everything but instead of the tortilla nuke the cauliflower gnocchi and toss with the Tomato sauce sausage and veggies.

Ok, so I'm on a soft foods mission from God these days. LOL! I'm having a bit of an affair with Healthy Request Condensed Cream Soups. Today I tried and made cream of mushroom and crab Soup. It was totes awesome and ridiculously easy. Just open some cans and pour into a pot--basically.

Cream of Mushroom Crab Soup (or use your favorite healthy canned cream soup flavor):

You basically just whisk everything but the Protein Powder together in a small saucepan and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. You can add whatever spices you want. I also nuked 2 oz of broccoli until very tender and chopped it up pretty small. Then to every serving, I just add 1/4 of the whey Protein powder and a spoon or two of soup and stir it into a paste, then add the rest of the soup and the protein powder dissolves like magic. Then I added the broccoli to the bowl. It makes about 4-5 (1/2c) servings and is fabulous. If you don't like broccoli you can add cauliflower, chopped spinach, more mushrooms. But I am focusing on frozen soft veggies right now.

So so so good. I may have it for dinner tonight!!!

Here's the nutrition totals with 4 servings per recipe (makes about 1 cup of soup with the broccoli added):

Rotisserie chicken from costco or grocery store. Easy way to make fajitas, Soup, salad, stir-fry, sandwiches etc.. if I don’t stop I’m going to sound like the man from Forrest Gump.

Which reminds me of another one I like to have around, Fresh or frozen shrimp. Cooks crazy fast and is easy.

I was using bariatric pal food packets until they hosed me on the return policy. Some items were great but being charged 30% return/stocking fee as a part of their taste test guarantee made me decide to look elsewhere for ideas.

You are new and have only posted several times about being hosed. If you are real, fill out your profile. What type of surgery and when?

Avoid any site that sells bariatric processed crap food. I would suggest eating real whole foods. Hope you get your money back.

I thought that I would chime in with something that I have used in the past. Rather than use the flatbread or tortilla wraps, try Joseph’s Lavash bread. The wraps are large and we only need about 1:4 of one which equates to 30 calories. They are made from flax, whole wheat and oat bran. Super yummy!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
