ke12 13 Posted February 28, 2018 Hi all, I’m going to have surgery in a few days (yay!) and I’m realizing now that the pre-workout and aminos I use require a lot of liquid to be consumed, since it’s a powder you mix into 16 oz of Water. Has anyone altered the supplements they use post-surgery or do you just consume them slower?
FromBiggie2Smallz 22 Posted February 28, 2018 Congrats! My pre-workout calls for 4-6 oz of Water and I drink my 24oz bcaa while I workout. I've taken No Xplode, C4 Ultimate and C4 Original and all call for a small amount of water to mix. 1 ke12 reacted to this
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted February 28, 2018 I start fueling and hydrating an hour before I work out. It gives me enough time to consume. I dont like to workout on a full stomach.Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app 1 ke12 reacted to this
James Marusek 5,244 Posted February 28, 2018 Right after surgery, I lost my ability to swallow large pills and I had to crush them. The horse-size Calcium tablets were the worse. It was like eating chalk. The only way I could down these was by mixing them with crystal light and drinking them down. Because they formed a paste at the bottom of the glass. I had to remix these and chug them down several times. Luckily my inability to swallow lasted only a couple months and then I was back to normal.

That’s kind of what I was thinking - just mixing the pre-workout with less water and drinking the bcaa slowly while working out (which is what I currently do anyway). I just wanted to see if this was the general thought in the post-op community. Thanks!!!!

In this post, I was mostly curious about the pre- and post-workout supplements. Thanks, though!
