Where are you noticing it?

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to know where you all are seeing your weight loss. I finally have cheek bones again! I have also lost some of my chest (thank god) but I am not noticing it anywhere. 21lbs seems like so much, you think you would see it more. Oh yeah I am wearing my rings again!!:clap2:

I am noticing it in my clothes now. They are okay just out of the dryer but after a couple of hours I look all droopy. My face and chest and neck is the first place I loose.

My hubby looked at me one day and said wow! you can really tell in your face how much weight you have lost! That was my first nsv! Then my coworkers were making fun of me bc my clothes are too big on me now! But I told them that I was gonna wear them until they fell off!! LOL

I waqs walking with a friend across the park yesterday and my 8 year old son yelled, "Mom, you are already getting skinnier!" I was embarressed, but jumping up and down on the inside. If my 8 year old notices then that's a pretty good sign. When we got to the car I asked him where he thought I was skinnier, and he said in my legs.

I was changing the sheets on my uncle's bed (he lives with me and DH) and he said my A$$ is getting smaller! I had to laugh as I told this 80 year old gent to stop checking out my A$$! He has also told me my face looks thinner. I don't see it myself other than in my clothes.

I'm seeing it in a lot of ways now (41 lbs will do that for you).

- I'm down between 2 and 3 sizes (depending on where I try on clothes). I can't put things in my pockets or my pants fall off! Even the pants that come close to fitting now have that nasty droop in the front crotch area. Eek!

- legs are crossing more easily (still not the ladylike approach but things aren't falling asleep as much)

- the seatbelt buckle doesn't jab my hip any more

- no more double chin and the cheekbones are showing

- collar bones are starting to show and I can almost feel my hipbones

- chairs fit better (I even had extra room in an old theatre chair the other night!

- I'm now doing 3 laps at the dog park relatively easily

- people who don't know I had surgery are noticing

- my brother now calls me "slim" (even though I'm not even halfway yet). I love my brother!

It feels great, doesn't it?!

My SHOES are falling off! Not exactly where I was looking for a loss but I will take it!

In addition, I am no longer resembling a pot-bellied pig! My dress pants for work all look quite funny in the front - too baggy!

This is just great - I am so happy with the band!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
