Creekimp13 5,840 Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) if honey didn't bother you in the past, it will likely be ok now. You might want to get pasturized honey and wait a while on raw honey. Raw honey can be infected with Botulism spores which are usually not a problem for healthy people, but could be a problem for someone recovering from stomach surgery. Also, keep in mind that honey is pure sugar. 64 empty calories per Tablespoon...so be careful of using it purely because it's so nutritionally awful. Carb counters won't like the 17g of carbs per Tablespoon. (that said, I'm not a carb counter and have used honey a couple of times since surgery) But yeah... a pasteurized filtered honey.....should be safe for you to use sparingly.
