jmm16 11 Posted February 25, 2018 I doubt you're actually hungry but suffering from head hunger. My surgery was the 15th and all I've been able to think about is eating a sandwich (stupid Subway commercials). My surgeon said I could eat yogurt, which I've enjoyed because it's not too sweet, but having strained Soup has saved me. Broccoli cheese and Tomato basil. I wanted the salt and broth wasn't doing it. Also, once I started feeling better more of the foods I could eat started sounding and tasting better. Good luck and it will just be a few more days before you get to pureed food!
Walter.Sobchak 978 Posted February 25, 2018 Your hunger is very real, I was starving the morning after surgery. There is no easy solution, you have to follow your surgeons instructions. Just know, this too shall pass. 3 Creekimp13, FluffyChix and logicwand reacted to this

jmm16 11 Posted February 25, 2018 My surgeon said I could have strained cream and regular Soups and I've been living on them! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
brookelynzoo 13 Posted February 25, 2018 My post op for a whole month is a blended diet so I can have condensed Soup but it needs to be puréed. Campbell’s makes a cream of onion that I liked
Losebig 508 Posted February 25, 2018 Early hunger is pretty common. The good news is it usually fades. You will also feel full once you get to soft foods and that helps. My worst hunger was the first 2 weeks after, now almost 3 months out I am seldom hungry 3 Creekimp13, FluffyChix and logicwand reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted February 25, 2018 I was so hungry a week after surgery I could have eaten my leg off. Dishearteningly hungry. I was starting to feel really desperate. After getting on pureed and soft foods, I felt a lot better. Got my calories up to 1000 per day at week 3 and haven't felt hungry since. I get 1200 or so per day, now, and feel really good. Never hungry. This where I'll stay for the next 15 months or until I reach goal. It does get better! You're in the home stretch:) 2 logicwand and Walter.Sobchak reacted to this
