Eventer826 35 Posted February 23, 2018 Discussion about skin care in preparation for surgery and after surgery. What are the best products to use to keep skin happy and healthy while losing weight rapidly to avoid so much excess skin?Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Newme17 3,444 Posted February 23, 2018 Hmmm....imo, not much. Being left with loose skin or not so loose skin is a factor of many things...age, how long you’ve carried excess weight, even genetics. Best to accept that it may happen. If it doesn’t, well that’s great. If it does, then you’ll not be too disappointed as you’ve already accepted it. Just keep it hydrated with lotion and drinking your Water is my best advice. 2 Eventer826 and logicwand reacted to this
Eventer826 35 Posted February 24, 2018 What lotion do you recommend?Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Newme17 3,444 Posted February 24, 2018 (edited) Nothing special I use but OTC lotion. If you want to maximize the moisturizer than I would suggest finding a lotion with essential oils or just buying some Vitamin e oil and slathering it on with a regular lotion. 😊 Edited February 24, 2018 by Newme17
Shyshorty 4 Posted February 24, 2018 This is my regime and it helps: I use a shea butter body scrub while in that shower with exfoliating gloves. I use it on my "problem areas" so stomach, inner thighs, flanks, wings, everywhere pretty much. Once done, I rinse and follow up with Aveeno body wash. Once done with my shower I only pat dry, then apply shea body butter. And spend about 10 min massaging it in. This has helped reduce the visibility of my stretch marks, and keeps my skin seems firmer and nourished.Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app 2 logicwand and Eventer826 reacted to this

Shyshorty 4 Posted February 24, 2018 It helps get rid of the dead skin cells, increase blood circulation. I can hardly see my stretch marks unless I look for them. Heck, the exfoliating is even helping my one raised scar flatten out and not be so ref and angrySent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app 2 Eventer826 and logicwand reacted to this
